Animal farm is a novella by George Orwell published in England on August 17, 1945. The book talks about Stalinist era of the Soviet Union. George Orwell’s goals in writing this book were to depict the Russian Revolution of 1917 that resulted into a very oppressive, totalitarian government. It was more deadly than the one it overthrew. The characters of the novel are parallel to those of the Russian Revolution. In short, Manor Farm is Russia and Old major, Snowball and Napoleon portrayed the dominant figures of the Russian revolution.

Worst characterNapoleon- The pig who was the leader of Animal farm after the Rebellion. Napoleon depicted Joseph Stalin emerged as an utterly corrupt opportunist. This leader used military force the nine loyal attack dogs, to scare and intimidate other animals and consolidate his power and make it more absolute. He never showed interest in the betterment of the Animal farm, only in the strength of his power. In his supreme craftiness, Napoleon showed that he is very dangerous and hard to deal with.

best characterSnowball- This pig was Napoleon’s rival. Snowball is intelligent, passionate, eloquent and a better individual than his counterpart, Napoleon. Snowball won the loyalty of the other characters in Animal Farm and cemented his power. Snowball brought literacy to the farm so that the other animals can better take the principles of Animalism and threw himself heart and soul into the spread of Animalism worldwide and to improve Animals Farm’s infrastructure.
